Scala dei Turchi

At about 20 kilometers from Luna Minoica Suites & Apartments, it is possible to admire the extraordinary spectacle of the white cliff called Scala dei Turchi. Made up of calcareous marl, the reef slopes down to the sea in fact similar to a grand staircase. So-called because landing place of past Saracen incursions, where the Moorish pirates could find shelter in this little area from the winds, Scala dei Turchi offers a picturesque landscape, accentuated by the contrasting colors of blue sea and sky, opposed to the whiteness of limestone.
