Eraclea Minoa

and the Natural Reserve of the Mouth of the River Platani

A few kilometers away from Luna Minoica Suites & Apartments there is the ancient archaeological site of Eraclea Minoa, a city named in honor of Heracles and Minos. The place is of such beauty that Greek colonists erected a large theater in the fifth century BC that is still present today. Not far from the theater you can visit the archaeological site of the ancient Greek and Roman settlement. Less than a kilometer as the crow flies extends the Natural Reserve of the river Platani, dominated by the cliffs of Capo Bianco, of incredible natural beauty and the first landing site of many migratory birds from Africa. A place where history and nature are inextricably intertwined creating a unique atmosphere.
